Cambridge Cookery School Cafe and Deli
A daytime cafe attached to a Cambridge cookery and wine school, open Wednesday to Sunday.
This cafe is part of Cambridge Cookery, a cookery and wine school at Homerton Gardens off Purbeck Road in the south of the city. The school says it has been running in Cambridge since 2008, so the cafe is a daytime front of house for a business built mostly around classes, team events and private parties.
What the cafe offers
The cafe's own page describes fresh, homemade pastries and cakes, with lunch dishes that change daily. Coffee, tea and a selected range of soft drinks go alongside. It is a lunch-and-cake stop rather than an evening venue, and it closes at 3pm on every day it opens.
The school behind it
The wider site describes a large, contemporary kitchen used for hands-on classes in small groups, from beginners upwards, taught by chefs it says are Cordon Bleu trained. It also runs a wine school with tastings and classes, including formal WSET courses at levels 1 to 3, and arranges corporate team events, birthday parties and hen and stag dos. Gift vouchers are sold for classes.
Practical notes
The cafe opens Wednesday to Friday from 9.30am to 3pm and at weekends from 9am to 3pm; classes and events run separately, morning to evening. Tables cannot be reserved. A very large party is asked to call or email ahead. The telephone number is 01223 247620, and the school lists a Visit Us page on its website for directions.
