The Station House, Histon
A brunch and afternoon-tea café in the renovated Histon Station.
The Station House is a café in the village of Histon, on the northern edge of Cambridge. Its website describes healthy all-day brunch, afternoon tea and coffee, all served in the beautifully renovated Histon Station.
The menu
The site splits the offer into several menus: breakfast, served until 11am; brunch, served all day; drinks; a children's menu; and afternoon tea. The kitchen says the brunch dishes are cooked to order by its chefs and served with ethically sourced coffee roasted locally by Hot Numbers. The aim, the site explains, is food that makes an excellent breakfast or lunch without the fuss of making it at home.
Afternoon tea
Afternoon tea is served every day from 2pm. It comes with savoury sandwiches, a sultana scone with cream and jam, and a selection of homemade sweet treats. The café also suggests prosecco cocktails for an anniversary or birthday.
Practical notes
Tables can be booked through the Reservations page of the website, which also sells gift cards and runs a newsletter. The phone number is 01223 234381. The site does not publish opening hours on its front page, so check before travelling. Map data lists the address as Station Road and records outdoor seating. Histon is a short way out of the city, so allow time for the journey.
