Your Dumplings
A small King Street restaurant serving grilled dumplings.
Your Dumplings is a small Chinese restaurant at 62 King Street. Its website describes a husband-and-wife team and traces the idea to a great-grandmother who ran a grilled-dumpling restaurant in Shanghai in the middle of the last century. The aim, in the owners' words, is to keep that tradition's skills while mixing in local catering characteristics and providing high-quality grilled dumplings. The Chinese name on the site is 豆浆和生煎, which pairs soya milk with pan-fried buns.
The menu
Dumplings come steamed or pan-fried, with mixed, chicken and mini pork fillings among those listed. Beyond them the menu is wide. The larger dishes include pork belly and egg, roast duck, teriyaki chicken, grilled eel and Shanghai wonton, most of them served on rice, in soup noodles or in soup udon. Sides include salt-and-pepper squid, spring onion pancake, edamame and tea eggs. There are also slow-stewed broths and a spicy broth section, and mixed soya milk to drink. Prices are listed on the website.
Practical notes
The restaurant offers eat-in, takeaway and online ordering, as well as catering. It opens from Tuesday to Sunday, noon to 10pm. The site has been used for short-notice holiday closures, so a quick check before a visit is sensible.
